Country life and living is an ongoing trend that has grown in the last few years as people crave a more relaxed and peaceful life.

We create textiles for Family homes and working farmhouses, for those who live in the countryside, who like the relaxed country style, or those who may be far from the rural life but want a taste of it in their home.

Textiles that look good, tell a story, and most importantly are really useful and practical, all at the same time, such as a simple tea towel hanging on the range to catch someone’s eye and conjure up a memory, and brighten their day.

Growing up on the family farm in rural Pembrokeshire, the countryside and farming life is part of Hannah, who loves being outside in the open space and fresh air, for long walks around the lanes, footpaths and fields.

Nature is always a great source of inspiration to Hannah, and during her second year at Somerset College of Arts, studying Interior Textile Design, her work took on an agricultural feel.

She realised that using her knowledge, memories and experiences in her drawing and design work, she could develop her own style. Honing her drawing skills and passion for colour, and adding watercolour to drawings create a natural feel. Digital print captured Hannah’s imagination, and motivated her to create her own collection of fabric.

The Cosy Barn combines Hannah’s passion for sewing and textiles, with her love of the farm and countryside, to create a brand that use textiles to reflect aspects of life in the countryside, farm and garden, in the home.

The Cosy Barn creates original prints for handmade products. Designs are hand drawn, painted and produced by Hannah M. We use U.K suppliers to print our fabric and all our products are handmade on the farm!
