Bramble

“Brambles are generally loathed.

A sight of untidiness and neglect, growing at the rate of knots. Though there is one time of year that they become loved. The delicate white flowers blossom into deep purple clusters of Blackberries, and to me are the best of the berries!

In the late summer sun, blackberry picking is a simple pleasure and so rewarding. Jams, crumbles, pies and puddings that always taste better than remembered, year on year. In our house, my personal favourite is adding them to rice pudding after Sunday lunch!”
